Riftgates are the only form of faster than light travel in the Alfar Sphere.

Riftgates are machines made for FTL travel, they create a tube directly connected to a hyperspatial rift on the recieving riftgate, this creates the effect of a spherical portal that can instantly transport an object. The primary disadvantage of this system is that the riftgates have to be transferred manually at slower than light speeds, hindering the growth of the Alfar Sphere. Opening portals may take long periods of time if the space between individual portals has extreme gravitational sources, more so if the any such gravitational source has been moved, this time period can be reduced by continuously opening the portal repeatedly, the most frequently used Riftgates can open portals almost instantly.
